Eddy current engine dynamometers

DE engine dyno series are a very attractive alternative to hydraulic brakes for several applications since they have low installation requirements and are easily transportable. They have excellent control features, quick response and very low maintenance.

Eddy current brakes can be the perfect compact solution for testing systems for low power diesel engines, electric motors, hydraulics or special applications. Being air-cooled, the brake does not require a water circuit.

Accessories

Saenz offers complete solutions for engine testing, this includes the full range of accessories for test rooms including mobile engine bases, starting systems, cardan shafts, elastic couplings, engine adapters, cooling and water recirculation systems, fuel measurement systems and all types of sensors.

SMAC data acquisition system

This system works with the highest technology, It has easy-to-use software with a large number of tools for visualization and analysis of tests. The system allow to add modules so the number of data channels can be expanded to add accessory sensors as much as desired. Communication is done through fiber optics avoiding all kinds of electrical noise problems, which is very important in a dynamometer environment, usually susceptible to this phenomenon.

Universal Engine docking kart

Wheeled frame allows the engine to be mounted outside the test cell and easily transported and docked to the dynamometer. Different sizes are available: for 2000, 3000, 9000, 13.000 and up to 20.000kg engines. All karts have SAE Engine Flywheel Housing to mount the engines: #6, #5, #4, #3, #2, #1, #1/2, #0 and #00.

Control and Command desk

For dyno command, done with stainless steel board and contains all the commands of the test bench environment, the accelerator and the brake load control. With a 24'' LED monitor incorporated to operate the SMAC acquisition and control software.

Engine cooling column

Allows to control the engine temperature and keep stable conditions to achieve repetitive measurements.
- Engine water circuit pressure adjustment system.
- Includes a sight glass for detecting leaks
- Analog pressure and temperature clocks for quick check inside the dyno room
- Mobile base

Drive shaft with guard

Driveshaft allows to couple a large variety of engines to the dyno brake, allowing misalignment between the engine and the dynamometer. The shaft is mounted inside a guard that contains it in the event of a failure, minimizing risk for people and the rest of the equipment in the test cell.

Resilient Couplings

The resilient coupling reduces the transmission of high amplitude torsional vibrations during testing. Helps protect and extend the life of the drive shaft.

Throttle actuator

The throttle actuator allows for the automation and precise operation of mechanical engine throttles. The actuator's stroke and speed are fully adjustable, allowing it to easily adapt to different devices.
